Baby Birds!

A few weeks after I shared my birdhouse story with you all, a tragic event happened...the house fell! Yes...that's right...it FELL off the window!! I was cleaning up in the kitchen and I heard a VERY loud thud sound. I looked all around and then I thought "Oh, no! Was that the bird house?" I looked up where it should be and it was gone. I ran outside and it was on the ground upside down with the momma bird trapped!! It was awful. I was able to help her out, but one little spotted egg was left cracked on my back porch. I cried! I got the house hung back up and secured. I was sure that the momma would never return, but a few days later I saw her perched on a trellis close by and she flew up to the house...I was elated! A few nights ago, while eating dinner, we heard baby birds! I jumped up, opened the window, and looked in the house and it was too dark to see them, but we could hear them well. The next morning, we were able to see four little baby birds! We watched the momma bird bring worms and little grass hoppers to her babies all day. So exciting! Oh, I did get a good picture of the momma bird...isn't she cute! The kids and I are enjoying this experience. I love birds...so fascinating! I love to watch them and think about the fact that God cares for them and cares for us even more!

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store
away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more
valuable than they?

JOYful, Kristi

I am soooo glad y'all got to do this! I think y'all are the only ones that got to see birds. Will try again next year. Love, Mom

I found your blog, Sweets! We had some killdeer nest in our backyard and the babies were precious! Lori
