Today Carrie came running with a piece of chocolate drizzled popcorn [yes, it is as good as it sounds!] and she said, "Look Mommy a panda bear playing a guitar...I'm going to sell it on ebay for $5000". She is SO funny!~ A few weeks ago Katelyn came home from church and told us that her friend had told her that you could sell food on ebay for thousands of dollars IF it looked like an animal, so now the kids search hard for animals in everything...cheetios, popcorn, cereal, etc...it has been quite an ordeal around here ~ha! Oh Lord, I love these kids! So thankful.
Joyful, Kristi

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...
Okay, I found this pretty, pre-lit tree last summer and I could not wait to get it out for Christmas! It's a 6' 'skinny' tree that sits in a neat black urn...matches my house perfectly! I decorated it with fruit, ribbon, and crosses for Christmas...it was great. So, after Christmas when it was time to take it down and store it I got a little sad. Then Kate had a SUPER idea! She suggested that we have a 'holiday' tree! Yippppeeee! We went to Hobby Lobby on Friday and bought the cutest felt hearts [hot pink, aqua & lime green] and lime green ribbon with hearts on it. We came home and decorated our little tree for Valentine's Day! Is that too cute or what!?! Greg thinks I am crazy ~hee! With four girls in the house...he's puts up with a lot!

Brrrrrrrrrr....

After 18 months of living in NW Arkansas...we have witnessed our first REAL ice storm! We woke up to freezing rain that continued to fall all morning. Greg went in to the office to get his laptop, so he could work from home [power was out at his office]. He took our new suburban to see how the all-wheel drive handled on the ice. He was extremely happy with it's performance...no sliding! In fact, he was so pleased, when he got home he took us all for a 'winter wonderland' drive. Most of the town was out of power, but we did find a McDonald's that was open, so I was able to get my mocha latte fix...priorities! There was about an inch of ice covering everything. It looks beautiful, but the ice is very hard on the trees and we have lost many large branches in our backyard trees. :(
We drove up to MO and went to Walmart for some staples. It was a fun! It started snowing this afternoon and we have about 2-3 inches on the ground. The kids stayed out in it until they were frozen! I'll take more pictures in the morning.

My mom asked that I start updating my blog more often and I know it would make her very happy to 'see' what we are up to from day-to-day, so I'm going to try very hard to update at least 3 times a week. My blog goals: 1. Record memories, 2. Update family and friends, 3. Encourage other mommas in their walk with the Lord as we train and teach the gifts He has given us!
Oh, one more thing...it has felt like a holiday today! Greg was home and that always means something yummy is cooking. Tonight he made homemade chicken pot pie!! VERY good, warm, and filling! I love my cooking hubby!

Love Y'all, Kristi

First Cookie!
Well, it's not really a cookie, but that's what we called it and Chloe loved it! She got it ALL over her face and her shirt. The kids had fun watching her eat it. I gave her a bath afterwards.

Mother's Day!
My Mother's Day was absolutely perfect...thanks to my dh and my sweet blessings!
DH cooked a nice breakfast. Katelyn put together a package full of my favorite things (shown in the picture collage). Her love language is 'gifts' and she loves to give (and receive) gifts! She always makes special items that she knows the recipient will cherish. She made a place mat, a tile that says, "Mom's Coffee", a scrapbook, a cute note card that says, "Happy Mom's Day", and a sign. They gave me flowers and a card, too!
After breakfast we headed to Lowe's to buy wood, flowers, and a hummingbird feeder. I asked for a 'square foot garden' for Mother's Day, so dh and the kids worked hard all day to build the planters. Later we filled the planters with rich, organic dirt. Now they are ready for me to plant! I want tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, radish, cucumber, and onion. I also want to create a Butterfly Garden for a nature study. We will go find the plants this Saturday at the Farmer's Market on the square. I noticed they will be selling organic vegetable plants...yippee! I'll post more pictures once we plant everything.
The day was fun and productive. The weather was beautiful. I enjoyed working outside and watching the kids work together to make me something special. We also, finished our hummingbird habitat and counted over 20 hummingbirds that day!
Dh cooked a delicious Mother's Day dinner and it completed my wonderful day! Notice the table that Katelyn set...she's very creative! Cason and Carrie helped her (they took orders well). :)
I hope you had a blessed Mother's Day as well.
Cherish the moments.
Blessings, Kristi
